The 2 1/2"H x 1-1/4"W bright red LED digits are easily seen from across the room in darkness as well as in light. This wall clock has a selectable 12-hour or 24-hour display format and has PM and alarm indicators. Both the clock and alarm time can be set on the unit itself or by remote control. Works on standard AC120V wall power only, but comes with a battery backup compartment for use with 9V battery (not included). Comes with a 10' cord, a stand for bench top use, and a remote control with button cell battery. UL approved. Dim: 12" x 6.5" x 1-1/4". Weight: 24 oz. (696 g).

This clock's display is REALLY big, which is what I wanted since I could not tell time without my glasses. HOWEVER, it is SO bright that I had to tape a sheet of green translucent plastic over the display because it lit up the entire bedroom. The alarm is really loud, also, which scares me to death when it goes off. And, as far as I can figure out, you can only set the alarm at the clock, not with the remote (but I may just be technologically challenged.) I use the remote to turn the alarm on and off, and for snooze.For the next design round: please put a dimmer switch on the light, and a gradually increasing alarm (or have two different tones for the alarm). It was easy to set and the numbers are nice and LARGE so you can read it without glasses on. It is a wall alarm clock so it came with a remote. It is plenty big and very readable even at 40 feet, with the exception of the AM/PM indicator (which of course isn't necessary unless you work in a 24hr casino!). Set up is very easy using the buttons on the side of the unit. I downgraded the clock to 4 stars because the battery for the remote arrived dead (or the remote itself is dead--no way to test it out as the battery it takes is uncommon enough that I didn't have an alternate). In any case, I won't be using the unit for an alarm clock and so having a remote isn't necessary. One thing worth noting is that this unit also accepts a 9-volt battery, but the 9-volt isn't sufficient to power the clock. Strangely, you need to open the battery compartment to run in the AC power.
