First........this is an LCD clock numbers and it CANNOT be read looking straight on, it must be mounted higher than the height of a persons face to read the numbers as a pure black digit. LCD's even in watches require that you twist yopur arm at an angle to see properly. You cannot look down at the clock and see the numbers sharply/ IT's AN LCD clock and thermometer. LCD's work by contract against another background, in this case Black number on a grey contrast backing. Twist the disply right or left and you see it clearly, so mount it higher than your eyes and it works like any other LCD device. The backlight uses 4 led blue lights (light emiting diodes) in other words a light coming though a stran of pastic on the left side of the clock.........it shines the blue light to...
