The ticking Seconds is loud enough to DISTURB a person with normal hearing. It will be better is the second-hand just moves smoothly WITHOUT making Tick-Tick sound. Item was packaged by manufacturer in typical cardboard form with clear wrap. Oddly, it was held inside the carton with two metal screws on the outside of the carton. I guess it was anti-theft protection but I guess I havent bought a clock in a long time. The clock is very simple but I like the crisp very legible old-fashioned numerals with the minutes marked. The clock face is nicely visible from where it hangs, I can easily see the seconds sweep hand for my purposes. The clock ticks but I didnt notice it being loud. I like the sound of a ticking clock, and have a couple others that tick. I grew up with real wind-up clocks, so it seems comforting not annoying. I'll probably get another for a differnt room. I'm tired of the eerie glow of led clocks on all the appliances. So that is a plus, it does not glow in the dark. One thing that helped me make the decision to order, was the variety of colors you had to choose from. I had some trouble matching colors previously with some of my other decor, until I ran across this clock. It works and looks great and I'm so happy to have found it. It is truly a steal at the price listed and it is an asset to my home. |
