It takes a while to get the joke, but everyone I've shown this to either loves it or groans. Set it 5 or ten minutes ahead of the real time for best effect.
And yes, the second hand is removable - just grab it under your fingernails and pull. It will come out.

When I first saw it, I knew immediately that it had to go in my kitchen! It's the exact size of a will return sign and second hands or not, it's fooled everyone who's been in my kitchen. Perfect for what I was looking for.

I have had this clock for a while - I don't remember exactly how long, but it has been several years. I don't need it as a clock and use it as more of a small wall decoration and it still makes me smile every time I glance at it.
I have had no problem with its operation. I just replace the single battery every once in a while and it keeps ticking. It keeps good time and neither runs noticeably fast or slow. If you need a clock, you might as well get a fun one. If you want a little something that makes you or your guests smile, it works just as well for that.
