When we got the product, the box said "faux brown cherry" finish" When we took the clock out of the box, we realized it was a type of plastic finish, not hardwood material. Other descriptions on Amazon on same item describe finish as acrylic. Nice clock if you want brown plastic. Howard Miller is a trusted brand. However, the description states it has a cherry hardwood frame, but the frame is acrylic. It's very light and cheap to the touch. The clock looks nice hanging on the wall.
